Webinar: The Impact of Apprenticeship of observation on novice English Teachers’ pedagogical beliefs
Detalles del evento
Teachers’ past learning experiences (i.e. ‘apprenticeship of observation’ (AoO)) can affect their beliefs and, in turn, their teaching practices. In this talk, we will see how their AoO relates to beliefs about socio-emotional aspects of their teaching practice as well as communicative-oriented methodologies. Such relation is particularly salient for future English teachers and should be acknowledged and analyzed reflectively and critically as part of their learning-to-teach process.
The UNAB English Pedagogy Program kindly invites pre-service and in-service EFL teachers across the country to join our webinar on the impact of apprenticeship of observation in ELT and its influence on novice English teachers’ pedagogical beliefs, which is part of a research funded by Fondecyt Iniciación (n° 11181138). The discussion will be led by Dr. Maritza Rosas Maldonado and Macarena Durán Castro, chaired by Dr. Carolina Pérez-Arredondo, our Professor at Campus Casona. Participants are encouraged to prepare and ask questions during the webinar.
